Therapy for Teens

During one’s teenage years and early adulthood, life can feel lonely, scary, novel, exciting, confusing, and stressful all at once. It’s a time of anticipation, discovery, and often lots of change.

With so many choices ahead, understandably this phase of life can become overwhelming.

Teenage life in today’s world is particularly challenging and comes with a unique set of personal, social, political, economic, and global pressures. Rates of depression and anxiety symptoms have steadily increased over the past 15 years, and the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the mental health of teens and young adults. However, anxiety and depression are treatable.

I support my clients in addressing symptoms, processing difficult feelings and experiences, developing communication and coping skills, exploring relational patterns, and cultivating greater self-awareness and self-confidence. As a result, teens and young adults can gain the clarity, confidence, and support needed to thrive.

Therapy can be a safe and supportive place for teens to process big feelings and begin to make sense of life’s challenges.

*I work with adolescents 12 years and older
